For nature, your Dobermans is stubborn so it’s really really important that he understand the meaning of the “Stop” command. Trust me a Doberman that doesn’t know the Stop command is a Dog that can ask the same thing for hours… no matter if he gets no results, he will try over and over and over…because for him there’s still a “last chance”…
For example if he want something out of your gate, he will try to go out to take it… no matter if he can’t.. he will continuously try to find a way to do that.
As you can understand, the stop is really one of the most important command in a good Doberman Training.
The Doberman Training secret to teach him the Stop command is pretty simple… you must let him understand that in some case (when you say “Stop”) it’s useless for him keep trying because even if he go on, he will NEVER get it.
To train him, you can use the following Doberman Training exercise:
- Get some Dog Treats
- Give him an easy command that he already understand (like “Sit”) and give him a treat
- Give him other treats to let him want more
